I am making a little blanket. It’s such a simple pattern, the trusted garter stitch!
I am making this for myself. I usually don’t knit for myself, but in this case I am. I have a bigger picture in mind. My Hygge future. At the moment life is nuts and I am not exactly where I want to be. The hope is that I can decorate my future home with this lovely little blanket. That I can wrap my daughter in it. Or place it on the sofa. That my husband could snuggle with it too. I dream of the colors and the future.
Sometimes I get into knitting ruts. Does that ever happen to you? I start a project and then I don’t touch it for some time. I need a deadline, maybe.
If you ever need a quick pick me up! Then this book is your pal! I love this little book. Marisa Anne is truly a creative and lovely soul. This book will guide you to finding your creative voice. I love the pictures in this book too. It’s so colorful and happy. I am especially drawn to the simplicity. It’s easy to read, as though you were talking to a dear friend.
Lately, I’ve been thinking of the ocean, of sand, and shells, of the sun. I’ve been thinking of simplicity. I have also been thinking of ways that kindness can spread. Like a ripple. A simple smile, a compliment, or a letter.
Lessons learned form April: Put on that makeup it will make you feel better. You don’t need to, but pamper yourself a little. Lipstick is a girl’s best friend.

“It calms me down right away, the quietness and the proud look of it; nothing very bad could happen to you there, not with those kind men in their nice suits, and that lovely smell of silver and alligator wallets. If I could find a real-life place that made me feel like Tiffany’s, then I’d buy some furniture and give the cat a name.”
Today I will allow myself the freedom to be me, with all my virtues and vices.
“When you meet anyone, remember it is a holy encounter. As you see him, you will see yourself. As you treat him, you will treat yourself. As you think of him, you will think of yourself. Never forget this, for in him you will find yourself or lose yourself.”
